9 Frame Analysis: Alt-J - Breezeblocks
To further understand key media concepts shown by media language, genre and representation we have decided to analyse another music video, focusing on a set of 9 frames in the video. The song we have chosen to look at is by art-rock band Alt-J and the second single from the bands debut album (An Awesome Wave) called Breezeblocks. The song was released in 2012 so it is fairly current and relevant to our project. Alt-J class under art-rock/experimental which we discovered was a sub-genre of rock when conducting initial genre research.
The video for this won a UK Music Video Award (UKMVA) for being the Best Alternative Video. Because of this, we decided analysing this video will give us inspiration and influence our initial ideas for when we plan the project.
