Testing Camera Focus & Tracking Shots
We have planned on including many pull focus shots in our music video to fit in with the stylistic combinations usually seen in similar music videos. To do this it involves changing the focus from shallow to deep focus on the camera, or vice versa. The video below shows us testing the focus range on the camera we are using (Canon 650D).
We have also planned on having many tracking shots in our video. To give us an insight to what using the track will be like and to making sure we have practice with it before filming actual video footage we have some some test footage with the track. However the footage is incredibly shaky as it was a very windy day and used a beach location. The video below shows the footage.
These images show the other members of my group assembling the track when we were filming our reccee and practise shots. We discovered that when using the track for the desired composition and shot we wanted we had to adjust the tripod so that the camera is pointing upwards to film a low angle shot. However when we tried using a different tripod we found that we could move the angle of the camera easily using this tripod.
The image to the left shows my group member Michael on the beach where we filming our practice shots of the track. The video above is the footage from the day and as you can see it is very shaky. This was mainly due to the extreme wind on the beach that day so we have made sure to check weather conditions before filming. Also, the tripod we used that day was not as sturdy as it could of been so we have also decided on using a better tripod.

Photo Adjustment Testing
Here are some basic photoshop skills I have applied to a recce image- these skills will be needed when creating our advertising images.
Shooting Schedule/ Storyboard
Me and my group will refer to this shooting schedule when filming our music video. This will remind us of the shots we have planned and also ensure that we have a mixed variety of shots in our final video. The shots are planned out chronologically and state the shot type, the action in the shot, and the miss en scene in that shot. Using a table makes it easier for me and my group to follow the planned shots and we can easily eliminate the shots that we have filmed. This document shows 58 planned shots which isn't a lot at all, however as stated in the animatic, we have merged certain shots together so that it saves us time on planning. When we come to film the final video we will definitely have more shots than 58, but this helps us make sure we get the important shots that we need for the video to be a success.

Storyboard
Below are the 58 images that make up our final storyboard. 58 shots does not seem that many, especially taking into account that the Foals - Inhaler video has 122. However, in some cases to save us time on planning we have counted 2/3 shots as one - for example jumping from a medium shot to a close up. When we go to film our actual footage we will have a lot more shots than 58, as this storyboard is only a draft to finalise our ideas. Details of each host and how it relates to the ideas discussed in the Treatment Sheet, can be found under Shooting Schedule on the Planning page.
